Hey! I wrote another article for RunnersWorld Tulsa. Continuing the Trail Running theme, this one is all about trail running shoes.
Shoes? I thought you were all about barefoot movement!?
Guilty as charged.
It's true, I am an advocate for barefoot movement and that includes trail running. I'm working on my own barefoot running tolerance which means that sometimes I don't wear barefoot running shoes. What's more, any movement (even in less-than-ideal footwear) might be better than no movement at all.
That's one reason I love working at a running store. We don't really sell shoes--we sell running.
So, give this article a read! It's not exactly aimed at the barefoot-minded community but is a pretty good primer on what makes up a trail running shoe and why.
